Oh my!  What went wrong Friday night?  I start off with a 290, leaving a ringing ten in the first, then I only get 359 pins in the next two games combined.  That's a kick in the guts.  I was throwing the ball so well, too.  Then it turned into a few splits, a few missed 10-pins, and a lot of dissappointment.  At least I had the one good game.

My average is creeping up though, after that horrible start to the season.

Second shift began this week, which means I will now be bowling four nights a week for the next several months.  As usual, the lanes were very dry right from the start.  The lanes don't get reoiled after the first shift, and there are a lot of guys who tear up the oil.  Tonight, though, they were almost too dry for my ball to handle.  I was standing on the left gutter and throwing over the center arrow, while trying to keep my speed up.  It worked OK for a while, but I got tired of it and tried using one of my other balls.  The old V2 hooked almost as much as the Hammer, though, and wasn't much help.  I also tried the Smash Time, and it was a little easier to manage.  Sometimes it's fun to bowl on the extremely dry lanes, but other times it's just a pain in the butt.  I should really look into buying a ball that I can use on those nights.
